Tassie Spirit has been set up with a commitment to provide the opportunity for Tassie players to stretch themselves musically.
The band seeks to provide an opportunity for players and drummers to have a chance of competing on the mainland or internationally.
The musical leadership, along with the band's committee, has a shared vision and passion for development and progression in the area of competitive piping and drumming.
Tassie Spirit wishes to partner with the state's current community bands, working towards overall development opportunities for players and strengthening our local scene while showcasing some of the talent that Tassie has to offer.
The band's vision and goals have been discussed and established over recent months. Our dedicated team carefully selected these to create structure and stability, as well as providing further opportunities to players wanting to challenge themselves. Currently, the band meets at least once per month. Alternating between Hobart and Launceston.
There are opportunities for further practice sessions in each location for individuals who require them.
It is expected that all members attend these practices while putting in the majority of work at home to meet the standard required.
